What Fossils can you find at Wrabness?

(Collecting from Wrabness with the TRG) - 2000

Fossils are generally uncommon, however shells including Artica and Mytilus can be found in the cement stones. There are woody pockets and pyrite concentrations containing shark teeth and plant material along the foreshore. Teeth species include Odontaspis rutoti, Striatolamia macrota and Carcharias teretidens. Some plant species found here include Iodes multireticulata, Jenkinsella apocynoides and Platycarya richardsoni. Occasionally turtle bones and beetle remains turn up.

Phosphatic nodules and pieces of whale bone from the Red Crag, which outcrops from the top of the cliff, can be found at the top of the beach. Other recent finds have included teeth from Isurus hastalis and Carcharocles megalodon.
